More iDEA badges go live for The Duke of York
After the success of our Automation badge released in the summer, Digital Marmalade have been working on several other badges for iDEA, some of which have now been released and are receiving equally great feedback!
The first is the Junior Web Designer badge, a perfect one for us to develop. The premise is ‘A Day in the Life’ where we introduce the user to the basics of design and writing front end code, cutting through the jargon, and looking focusing on Bootstrap as a framework.
In the badge the user will take you through creating components, building up pages, editing CSS and building grid layouts. Once you have learnt these skills you undertake your ‘First Day’, where you undertake a ‘real-life’ task set by a client. How well would you do? Give it a go!
Additionally, we have developed the Image Specialist badge which covers how to make images look the best they can be, looking at how important this is to us but also that there is more to choosing the right image for communications than just something that looks nice.
Another fun one is the Gamer Badge, where you spend the day in the life of a game designer. After learning some basics about the history of gaming, how gameplay works and what makes a great game, users get to have a go at creating their own version of a swipe based quiz, choosing different variables to make the game a success.
These new badges have eye catching and fun design, but that will appeal to adult novices as well as younger learners.
We’re really proud of these badges and there are more to come, so check out iDEA and have a go for yourself, and watch this space for updates!
